A three month investigation leads to the arrest of a man who allegedly attempted to burn down his former place of employment.
Fifty-eight-year-old John Helton is charged with one-count of arson and in the Walton County jail Thursday.
Officials say he intentionally tried to burn down the Wal-Mart located off Highway 331 in Defuniak Springs.
Helton reportedly set paper on fire in a canister in the men's restroom.
Authorities say fortunately firefighters were able to put out the flames before they spread to the rest of the building.
Damage is estimated around $3,000.
