Jury selection gets underway Wednesday in Montgomery Federal Court for the government's corruption trial against former Gov. Don Siegelman, former Healthsouth CEO Richard Scrushy and two former members of Siegelman's cabinet.
Attorneys estimate it will take two to three days to pick 12 jurors and four alternates from a pool of about 66 citizens.
The trial is scheduled to begin May 1 in Montgomery.
A federal grand jury indicted Siegelman, Scrushy and former Siegelman cabinet members Paul Hamrick and Mack Roberts last October.
All four pleaded not guilty.
Jury selection comes in the closing weeks of Siegelman's race for the Democratic nomination for governor on June 6.
