Girl Scouts’ Tents Intentionally Damaged

Malicious damage in rural Coffee County will cost a non-profit agency more than $1,000 in repairs.

"Camp Humming Hills" serves Girl Scouts from 16 surrounding counties. It is located midway between Elba and New Brockton.

Recently someone got into the campgrounds and managed to cut and rip more than a dozen large canvas tents. In addition, profanity was sprayed on many tents and picnic tables.

In order to be ready for summer activities, repairs will cost about $ 8,000.

Anyone with information about those responsible for the damage at Camp Humming Hills should contact the Coffee County Sheriff's Department at 894-5535.
