A Convenience Store Robber Sentenced to Life

A criminal who was caught on tape will be spending the rest of his life behind bars.

Forty-five-year-old Alton Crawford was found guilty of robbing a Dothan convenience store back in 2002.

The crime was recorded by a security camera.

A man wearing a cap can be seen ordering two store clerks to place money in a bag.

Investigators used the video tape to identify Crawford as the suspect, but he wasn't arrested until he was picked up on a drug charge in Columbus, Georgia nearly two years later.

Jurors deliberated less than half an hour before convicting Crawford. Judge Lawson little handed down a maximum sentence of life in prison.
