Chipley Murder-Suicide

Northwest Florida authorities are continuing to look for answers in an apparent murder-suicide. It happened around 6 p.m. Sunday at a house on Second Street in Chipley.

Police believe it's a case of domestic violence between Janice Carter and her estranged boyfriend. Carter's body was found by a relative. The 28-year-old mother of two had been fatally stabbed.

Police immediately began looking for Leonard Jones, Carter's live-in boyfriend. Early Monday morning, authorities found Jones. He had hung himself from a tree behind a Marianna mobile home park.

Chief Crews said the case is being handled as a murder-suicide and remains under investigation.
