Enterprise firefighters worked on putting out the flames of an abandoned home on Watson Street Friday to help train for the real thing.
The city offers homeowners an opportunity to remove their dilapidated structures.
In return, firefighters receive valuable hands-on training.
Enterprise Fire Dept Chief Byron Herring said it's a win-win for his department and the property owner.
"It gives us practice on land lines. It gives us the opportunity to use the ladder truck as well. Helps clean-up the community," said Fire Chief Byron
After the house is burned to the ground, the owner is responsible for paying to remove the debris from the property.
