Women were teeing off in the Wiregrass Thursday to help out the local area food bank.
The 7th annual five-star Credit Union classic was held today and over 50 women participated in the event. The fundraiser was comprised of an auction, luncheon and then 18 holes of golf.
The event raises over $20,000 dollars for the Wiregrass Food Bank, all of which will directly benefit Houston and the surrounding counties. The tournament benefits more than the food bank.
Five-Star Credit Union Representative Sheila Cestaro said, "The city of Dothan benefits by having the wire area food bank because it brings outside visitors here for the golf tournament and here to live and we helped hurricane victims.
The Wiregrass area food bank is always looking for donations to help feed those in need. If you would like to help you can contact them at 794-9775.
