Newton School's Report Card

An area school celebrated a milestone in academic achievement, the State Board of Education named Newton School tops in Dale County.

It was all "A's" and "B's" for Newton's third through fifth graders and an overall "B+" for the school.

For the first time in history, Newton School ranked number one in the Dale County School system on Alabama's State Board of Education Report Card.

The achievement was made during the 2001-2002 school year.

Last year, there was talk of closing the school, but the community's support and cooperation with faculty has lead to this top ranking.
