A convicted sex-offender is behind bars Tuesday morning.
The Laurel Hill resident was wanted by the Okaloosa County sheriff's department on charges of being a fugitive.
Samson police arrested 42-year-old James Steven Catrett at a residence near the town's elementary school. The police chief says that Catrett had been in the area for several weeks. A few neighbors reported that Catrett had been doing construction work in the area.
Chief weeks says Catrett had also reportedly been living on and off in Samson.
Catrett has reportedly waived extradition at the Geneva County Jail. He will be transferred to the Okaloosa County Jail in Crestview.
