Stokes Turned Himself In

A Dothan bail bondsman found himself on the wrong side of the law Tuesday.

Rickey Stokes turned himself in at police headquarters after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

He is charged with second degree perjury, a class "A" misdemeanor.

Police Chief John Powell says Stokes is accused of falsifying information on a document connected to his bonding business.

However Stokes says the chief is retaliating because of stories Stokes has posted on his Internet news site.

Stokes is free on a $500 bond.

He faces up to a year in the city jail if he's convicted.
