Holmes County Residents Were Without Power

Hundreds of Holmes County residents along the Stateline were without electricity for most of the day after a tornado touched down early Tuesday morning.

Several people reported a funnel cloud making touch downs along the Holmes and Geneva County line.

Fortunately, there were no injuries.

The heavy winds uprooted more than a dozen utility poles.

The storm also damaged roofs and scattered tree debris in the Pittman, Bethlehem and New Hope communities.

Holmes County was under a tornado warning by the national weather service when the storm hit.
