Lawn Tractors Recall

A Tennessee company is recalling some 270,000 riding lawn tractors because their fuel tanks can crack and leak fuel.

Murray Incorporated said the problem poses a fire hazard.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission said the company has received 101 reports of fuel tanks leaking. No injuries have been reported.

The recalled lawn tractors were sold under the Murray and Stanley brand names at hardware stores like Wal-Mart and Home Depot between November 2000 and January 2003. They have cutting decks of 38, 40, 42, 46 and 52 inches.

The government urges consumers to stop using the mowers immediately and contact the nearest Murray service dealer for a free replacement fuel tank.
