Spring Break

Panama City's Spring Break advertising is drying out after the American Medical Association alleged last year its' promotions fostered binge and underage drinking.

AMA officials blasted Spring Break promotions such as "all you can drink specials" and "booze cruises" in general but singled out the 2002 advertising inserts placed in college newspapers across the nation by the Panama City Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The bureau this year again circulated more than two million inserts in the college papers urging students to visit Panama City Beach, the nation's leading Spring Break destination.

But the inserts urge responsible drinking and offer safety tips when going out on the town.
