College Merger

Enterprise State Junior College and the Aviation Campus of Wallace Community College have been combined. The schools will now be called the Enterprise-Ozark Community College. The new name was formally approved Thursday.

That recommendation was made by post secondary education chancellor, Dr. Roy Johnson.

Dr. Stafford Thompson has been appointed president of the combined schools.

The Enterprise-Ozark merger is expected to save more than $800,000 annually in administrative costs.

The merger still must be certified by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
