A Dothan man was shot to death Thursday night, and police had a suspect in custody within minutes following a high-speed chase.
The incident happened about 11 p.m. Thursday outside a Dothan night club.
Investigators said two men got into an argument. One of them was shot in the chest with a shotgun. Twenty-two-year-old Christopher Ryan Whittle was pronounced dead about a half hour later at a Dothan hospital.
The suspect and a passenger fled the scene in a pickup truck. Police spotted the vehicle and chased it around the Ross Clark Circle. At one point, the suspect was traveling on the wrong side of the four-lane road. The chase ended when the suspect turned into the parking lot of the Houston County Jail.
Two men were taken into custody without incident. Police said one of them is the gunman, but no names have been released.
The investigation is continuing.
