Possible Layoffs at Globe Motors

Globe Motors in Dothan could be laying off some workers.

An official in Dayton, Ohio said the cutbacks may happen because the company has decided to move one of its Dothan Nissan lines to Portugal. Production in Dothan is expected to end April 4 of this year.

It's possible, up to 20 temporary workers will lose their jobs, but the company said it will try to find those workers other positions within the company.

The Dothan plant employs 457 workers.

Globe Motors designs and manufacturers motors and motorized devices for customers throughout the world.
