A local group is preparing to set out for Montgomery in support of the Ten Commandments monument.
Event organizers said it's not a protest march, but a march for Christ.
Plans were outlined at the Ozark-Dale County Library on Sunday for the march, which will take place two-and-a-half blocks from the Governor's Mansion to the State Judicial Building, where the Ten Commandments monument is housed.
A rally is scheduled to be held on the steps of the Judicial Building featuring guest speakers and music. The event is set for May 1, which is also the same day as the National Day of Prayer.
Organizers for the march hope to reclaim the Christian values that this country was built on.
The Ten Commandments monument will stay in the Alabama Judicial Building until the Federal Appeals Court reviews the case.
