A Wiregrass man is in jail Friday night for allegedly false reporting damage from Hurricane Katrina.
J. Douglas Faulk convinced Foremost Insurance Company his New Brockton home sustained more than $10,000 in damage from Katrina.
New Brockton police investigator John Greene along with several officers arrested Faulk at his Ainsley Street residence Friday afternoon.
The 67-year-old suspect has been under surveillance for several weeks by a private investigator hired by the Ohio-based insurance company which carried the homeowner's policy.
"Foremost Insurance" had initially cut Faulk an $8,000 check for reported home damage from Katrina.
But, he then reportedly began filing additional claims for reported items lost in the flood, but there was no flood in Coffee County stemming from Katrina.
