Be strong, be smart, be bold; that's what some local students are being taught today. It's all part of a program designed to teach young, female adults about the importance of looking at many different career options.
Organizer of the event, Ann Cotton says, "Its an entry into the area of careers. We want them to think about careers offered in the city of Dothan and the county."
The students, grades 6th through 8th, visited several businesses including Make My Clay, the food bank, and Flowers Hospital to broaden their idea of what careers females are capable of.
Students have to apply to participate in the program and in fact this year so many were interested that some were turned away.
Professionals took the time to guide students on their career search, and it seems many learned important lessons.
