Former Murder Suspect Jailed Again

A Dothan man who avoided prison after being charged with murder has now been charged with attempted murder.

Twenty-five-year-old Draper Scott Facion is accused of trying to kill a security guard at a Dothan bar.

The victim was hospitalized after being shot in the back with a shotgun, but has since been released. Police said witnesses identified Facion as the gunman.

Facion was charged with murder, six years ago in the stabbing death of another man. But prosecutors were not able to get a key witness to testify and Facion pled guilty to manslaughter instead. Facion was given credit for 20 months served in jail and was freed without ever going to prison.

Facion is being held without bond on the attempted murder charge.
