New Industry Headed to Opp

A new industry is coming to the Wiregrass.

Opp mayor Jerry Boothe announced Wednesday that Southern Editions will soon occupy the Opp Speculative Building on Hattaway Road. The industry will provide utility buildings, cargo trailers and utility trailers for the southeast area.

The company will initially hire 25 people, but that number is expected to increase to about 50 employees within the first year. Workers will be hired through the Alabama Employment Service.

For more information, call the Covington County Employment Office at 334-222-1115 or visit the service's Web site at www.es.dir.alabama.gov .
