A Dale County woman is recovering at home after being assaulted earlier this week.
Police said the victim was taken from Level Plains to Crenshaw County, where she was raped, beaten and shot. The woman managed to escape and contact authorities.
Area police and the Crenshaw County Sheriff's Department are looking for 29-year-old Richard Marion Carlile. He's wanted on rape, sodomy and assault charges. Carlile is known to travel in the Wiregrass area, and authorities said he is considered armed and dangerous.
