One man is making a plea to Dothan residents about Sunday liquor sales, “don’t endorse it”.
During Tuesday’s City Commission Meeting, Johnny Taylor begged residents not to support Sunday liquor sales.
He says, even though area state lawmakers refuse to sponsor the bill for this Legislative Session, the issue will come up again.
Taylor says “this is not an issue of taxation, this is not an issue of travel, this is not an issue of tourism, and this is not even an issue of revenue. Like Harri Anne Smith said, it's an issue of life and death and this is just one more day that we don't need to sell alcohol in our town.”
County and city commissioners asked lawmakers to consider bringing up a referendum for a vote, but the delegation wants unanimous support from both commissions first.
