The Houston County Commission has approved getting new handicapped voting machines.
Throughout the county, 29 new handicapped accessible machines will be placed in voting precincts.
Under the Help America Vote Act in order for a precinct to be a voting location, they must have these machines.
In order for Houston County to get a full reimbursement on the cost of the machines, they must have an invoice to the Secretary of State by next month.
That reimbursement totals more than $220,000.
The machines will be used for the June Primary Election.
