Dothan Kindergarten Registration

Parents in Dothan will be registering their youngsters for kindergarten on Wednesday.

Kindergarten is not mandatory in Alabama, but educators are stressing the importance of the program. By working in small groups, kindergarten teaches children social skills. It also exposes them to activities involving art music and physical fitness.

If your child is five years old, or will be by Sept. 1, you can register at any Dothan area elementary school Wednesday and Thursday. Make sure you take your child's social security card, a birth certificate, and an immunization slip with your child's shot records.
