Suspect's Cause of Death Determined

A suspected drug dealer, who died in the custody of Dothan police, apparently choked on a small bag of marijuana.

Police Chief John White said officers chased 19-year-old Timothy Brooks for several blocks Friday night, but, after a brief struggle, officers finally got him in handcuffs. White said paramedics were called in case Brooks had been injured while resisting arrest.

An autopsy found what appeared to be a small plastic bag of marijuana lodged in Brooks' esophagus. The investigation continues.
