Two adults and a child are safe after a fire destroyed their home late Monday afternoon.
Dothan firefighters received the call around 5:45 p.m. When they arrived at the house on East Selma Street, they found it engulfed in flames. However, the firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control.
The adults and the child were inside the house when the fire started, but were able to escape safely. One of the adults suffered minor facial burns and hair singe, but refused a ride to the hospital.
Neighbors said although they did not see the fire start, they heard a loud pop, which brought it to their attention. Smoke from the fire could be seen from several blocks away.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
