Northwest Florida Woman Sues Jail

A Bay County, Florida, mother is suing Corrections Corporation of America about an alleged beating that left her son dead at the Bay County jail annex.

Last October, 18-year-old Chad Littles was allegedly beaten to death by six fellow inmates. He was killed reportedly because the other inmates believed he was an informant for the guards.

Frances Hughes claims CCA, the corporation that operates the jail, failed to provide the proper number of correctional officers or monitoring equipment.

The six prisoners have since been charged with murder. A spokesman for Nashville-based CCA said the company was not, in any way, responsible for Littles' death.
