Northwest Florida authorities are advising the elderly to be extremely careful. A confidence scheme that targets senior citizens is operating in the area.
Holmes County Sheriff Dennis Lee said an elderly Bonifay man lost several thousand dollars. The sheriff said the suspects are two men and one woman in their mid-20s to 30s.
According to investigators, after the suspects enter a house, two of them distract the homeowner, while a third person sneaks in the house to look for cash and other valuables.
Lee said the suspects may be driving a red Jeep. They may also be spending $100 bills.
