Stolen Pool Cues Recovered

On Wednesday night, Dothan police recovered stolen property and caught a fugitive.

Forty-eight-year-old Fred Yates of Dothan is wanted for allegedly stealing $12,000 worth of custom-made pool cues from a company in Wisconsin. The cue-sticks were taken during a burglary.

Police said Yates was visiting in the area when the crime was committed. One of the pool cues is valued at $5,000 because it is handcrafted with ivory inlays.

Police also confiscated about $4,000 in cash when they searched Yates' Garland Street home. Captain Steve Parish said local investigators got a tip from authorities in Wisconsin that Yates was a suspect.

Yates is being held in the Dothan city jail awaiting extradition to Wisconsin.
