Fort Walton Shooting

A Fort Walton Beach man is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm after a shooting.

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s office officials say 27-year-old Wallace L. Morris, Jr. shot 23-year-old Tremaine Knox in the leg during a drug-related argument.

The two were apparently struggling over the weapon when Knox was shot.

Morris' car was spotted by police about 10-minutes after the shooting. He was taken into custody without incident.

Police found a 45 caliber handgun in the suspect’s apartment.

Knox was taken to a hospital for treatment.
