A Daleville woman is making a desperate plea to her 17-year-old son.
He is suspected of robbing a motel clerk at gunpoint and has been on the run for almost three weeks.
His mother wants him to return home to face authorities.
Lea Ward of Daleville wants 17-year-old Mikhail Founty, who she hasn't seen since December 5th, to come back home. He is a suspect in an armed robbery investigation but his mother say's he is innocent.
Police say Mikhail walked into the Econo Lodge Inn and Suites on North Daleville Avenue on November 17th and robbed the motel's clerk at gunpoint.
This allegation comes after Mikhail was supposed to go to court on December 6th for a probationary hearing related to a series of juvenile offenses. He skipped out on court that day and never returned home.
Anne Rodwell Econo Lodge General Manager had this to say about the incident, "This is a very small American town, and I was very surprised to see that something like this would happen here and scare nearby residents and business owners.”
But Mikhail’s mother maintains that he didn't do it and wants him to come clean and clear his name. She says to him “you need to come home and abide by the law.”
Police say that because a weapon was used Mikhail will be charged as an adult with first degree robbery.
If you have any information as to Mikhail’s whereabouts, you are urged to call Daleville Police at 334-598-4443.
