Judy Misiaszek and Tequilla Hartwell pick up the phone over and over again.

Misiaszek and Hartwell are Wiregrass 2-1-1 call specialists.

Wiregrass United Way Executive Director David Duke said, “When someone needs help, 2-1-1 is one number they can call to find out where they can go to get help.”

Misiaszek said, “I had a call and this lady had cleaned out her downstairs apartment and she had some things she wanted to donate. She didn't know how to do that, so she asked did I know that and I said yes ma’m, I’ll be glad to give you resources.

Duke says those calls all add up at the end of the month.

Duke said, “Our numbers last October were a little over 11 hundred to this call center and we were a little over 15 hundred this October.”

15 hundred people, some who want to give help, others who need to find it.

Hartwell said, “A young lady called asking for parenting classes, so I gave her a number for family counseling and she took down the number.”

Taking down the number and searching for more info.
