A man accused of raising fighting pit bulls has made a plea bargain with the judge and escaped 35 years in prison.
Jeremy Butler pleaded no contest to a number of animal cruelty and drug charges. Circuit Judge Allen Register accepted his plea.
Last Summer, authorities discovered several dogs along with methamphetamine in Butler's Bonifay home.
In return for the plea, Judge Register sentenced Butler to two years in prison.
If he had been found guilty by a jury, Butler could have faced a maximum sentence of 35-years in prison.
