Police say three former Wal-Mart employees are charged with stealing nine-thousand dollars from a Montgomery store.
According to Lt. Huey Thornton, a police spokesman, the three women allegedly allowed customers to purchase goods using stolen or altered checks.
He said 22-year-old Tekela Provo, 23-year-old Noleka Johnson and 20-year-old Keyona Johnson, all of Montgomery, were each charged with theft by deception.
Investigators also said the former employees were given gifts and gift cards from the customers for allowing them to use bogus checks.
Thornton said detectives were alerted by Wal-Mart security officials who tracked the illegal activity from early November to December 16th.
