Former HealthSouth CEO Richard Scrushy wants his pound of flesh.
The former HealthSouth CEO is suing the company he founded for more than 70 (m) million dollars for what he says was a breach of contract stemming from his firing in March of 2003. He also wants to recover legal expenses.
Scrushy was fired from the rehabilitation and medical services chain shortly after a two-point-seven (b) billion fraud was uncovered.
Scrushy claims in the suit that his employment agreement with HealthSouth should remain in force since he was acquitted on 36
criminal counts related to the fraud.
A HealthSouth spokesman has declined comment.
