A Houston County man will remain behind bars a while longer.
59-year-old Floyd Wesley Cole was charged with murder in the shooting death of his wife.
Gwenda Cole was gun down on a Dothan street in November of 1988.
A jury found Cole guilty of manslaughter and he was sentenced to 20-years in prison.
Cole was up for early release Thursday, but District Attorney Doug Valeska convinced the state parole board to keep him behind bars.
Cole will not be eligible for parole again until December of 2007.
