A Coffee County Grand Jury has indicted a former daycare operator.
Authorities say Julie Watkins violently shook five-month-old Jake Garrett last August resulting in shaken baby syndrome.
She’s charged with first degree assault.
Watkins operated Tweet Tarts Daycare out of her Enterprise home.
Authorities say Watkins called the baby's mother to come and pick up her son up because he had fallen and would not stop crying.
The child was rushed to Children's Hospital in Birmingham where doctors diagnosed "shaken baby" syndrome.
Mrs. Watkins remains free on a 20-thousand dollars bond.
She is scheduled for an arraignment hearing next Monday.
