A Dothan man accused of killing his wife before trying to kill himself will stand trial today for murder.
Billy Ray Marchman is being held under a half-million dollars bond.
He’s charged in the shooting death of his wife, Pamela Marchman.
The woman was gunned down in the couple's home last year, two days after Christmas.
Marchman then allegedly shot himself in the head but survived.
Investigators say Marchman was bleeding profusely but conscious when emergency personnel arrived on the scene.
The suspect spent several weeks in a hospital before being booked into the Houston County Jail.
Jury selection in the case is scheduled to begin this morning.
