The Space Shuttle Columbia victims were honored with a 21-gun salute during the already planned Alabama Baptist Convention Ceremony on Sunday.
Those in attendance prayed not only for mourning family members, but also the nation.
Gov. Bob Riley talked to the crowd about the group's heroic efforts and the tragedy that's shocked the world.
The president of the state Baptist Convention said prayer will help the country get through this tragedy.
