One neighborhood has had problems getting mail because of dogs running loose. Local authorities are doing all they can to prevent the problem from happening again.
Amos Newsome pulled out pictures of several pups on Lena Street. He received numerous complaints from residents about the dogs.
Animal control officers surveyed the area and identified the problem. Dothan police chief John Powell says they took a directive action.
There are 5 medium sized dogs and Newsome is worried about the children and elderly that live in the area.
When the pictures were taken Newsome says the dogs chased after the photographer.
Chief Powell says he has a good working relationship with the post office if any future problems arise.
Amos Newsome says whoever owns dogs...they should be on a leash and never allowed to cross the sidewalk.
