Narcotics officers and agents with the Alabama Bureau of Investigation tried to break up a suspected drug deal in the parking lot of a Dothan restaurant.
One officer tried to flag down a suspect's car but instead was hit by the vehicle. The suspect's car was eventually stopped by a roadblock on Highway 52 West, but not before the driver allegedly tossed several bags of marijuana from the vehicle.
In addition to drug charges, Jason Earnest of Columbia also faces charges of assault, resisting arrest and two traffic violations.
His bond is set at more than $20,000.
