The Jackson County Commission has decided to keep its county administrator after Commission Chair Paul Dudley recommended his termination.

In a letter, Dudley wrote administrator Ted Lakey stating that at tonight's meeting he could be terminated.

Dudley gave no explanation, only stating that Lakey could be dismissed 'without cause'.

However, board members felt Dudley's approach was, “'unprofessional.”

Commission members voted to individually evaluate Lakey's performance and re-evaluate the situation at a later time.

Although, they didn't have an exact date, members are looking at the beginning of next year.
