BOLIGEE, Ala. (AP) -- Two inmates who escaped from a corrections center in Decatur have surrendered in west Alabama.

Prison officials say 29-year-old Dallas Antonio Long and 20-year-old Kevin Hardie were captured at a gas station in Boligee late Tuesday.

The men didn't put up a struggle as they were taken into custody by state troopers. They surrendered about 14 hours after they were reported missing from a work release center in Decatur.

A report from the Department of Corrections says both Long and Hardie were armed at the time of their arrests.

Long was serving 45 years for robbery, and Hardie was serving a 10-year sentence for theft. Both men are being charged with stealing a vehicle while they were on the loose.

The prisoners were taken to the Greene County jail.
