Lashley Court Appearance

A Wiregrass couple accused in a series of cons throughout several states made an appearance in a Geneva County courtroom Tuesday.

Last September, Donald and Amy Lashley were arrested in North Carolina. They allegedly left a trail of bogus checks and rip-off schemes across a number of southern states.

Amy Lashley pled no contest to several counts of theft by deception. She is now awaiting extradition to Arkansas, where she's facing similar charges.

Her 28-year-old husband, Donald Lashley, continues to fight the charges. His attorney has filed a motion to have the case moved from Geneva because of pre-trial publicity.

No decision has been made on Donald Lashley's motion. His case has been moved to the March docket.
