With less than three-weeks before qualifying begins for Alabama’s municipal elections, the look of one city council in the Wiregrass has already taken a drastic change.
Missing four meetings in a row without explanation, the New Brockton City Council voted to remove District Four Incumbent Richard Driskell from office.
Mayor Charles Cole says city personnel have been unsuccessful in contacting Driskell and those residents living in District Four can apply for the job over the next two weeks.
In addition, District Two Councilperson Vicky Harrison announced that she's vacating her seat due to health reasons.
Those New Brockton residents interested in filling the District Two and District Four council seats must live in one of those two districts.
They have two weeks to submit a resume explaining why he or she is the best candidate for the job.
Resumes will be accepted at City Hall.
