An Okaloosa County Jail inmate is back in custody. He escaped from the Okaloosa County Jail in Crestview on Monday, November 7th.
36-year-old Michael William Herndon was seen by Putnam County deputies driving recklessly Wednesday night.
Herndon refused to stop and attempted to elude police.
After about two miles, Herndon pulled over and gave a false name to deputies.
A check was run on the vehicle, which indicated it was stolen out of Crestview.
Herndon was arrested and is charged with attempting to flee or elude, reckless driving, possession of a controlled substance, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and grand theft of a motor vehicle.
He is being held in the Putnam County Jail.
