The Dothan City School Board will be voting on a contract in the next two weeks that would make Interim Superintendent Sam Nichols the superintendent.
A committee approved a proposed contract last night that would give Nichols a salary of 131-thousand dollars a year.
That includes a state mandated raise and current health insurance.
They also approved 400 dollars a month in travel expenses. Nichols had requested 700-dollars a month.
The contract would be for two years and would change the wording of the contract to make it easier for the board to terminate the contract if necessary.
The contract proposal will go before the administrative board Monday night and then be up for approval on November 21st.
