Opp residents have become acquainted with clouds of red dust and asphalt fumes over recent weeks.
The city is undergoing more than two million dollars worth of road and sewer improvements.
It’s mainly being funded through grants but the town is paying a portion of the work.
Several of the roads have not been repaved in more than 30-years.
The ultimate goal is to create safer driving conditions and make the town more attractive to potential business and industry.
The State Department of Transportation is also repaving a short section of Highway 331 in the downtown district.
