A deer is believed responsible for another weekend traffic fatality in the Wiregrass.
This accident occurred Saturday night near the intersection of State Highways 27 and 85 in the city of Geneva.
32-year old Steven Creel sustained fatal injuries after being thrown from his vehicle.
A woman in the vehicle was also reportedly injured and hospitalized, but her condition is not believed life threatening.
Witnesses say Creel's truck collided with the deer moments after Larry Simmons pick-up truck first slammed into it.
Then Simmon's car went off the roadway and traveled more than 15-feet down a deep ravine before landing in a patch of trees.
Simmons was headed Southbound on Highway 85 when he says the animal was just
standing in the roadway.
The fatal wreck is under investigation by the Geneva Police Department.
National statistics indicate that deer are responsible for around three-hundred motor vehicle deaths each year.
